
In web development-speak, "agile" has replaced "extreme" as the meme of choice for lightweight development.
"SQL is the new HTML" has been shown to be a good bit of prognosticating by Hal Varian as evidenced by a tremendous growth rate in SQL Server books, dwarfing both Oracle and MySQL.
Interest in Java is continuing to slump, while Visual Basic and C# show strong growth. Same for Ruby on Rails in the open source language category.
Books on VoIP are particularly hot (up 96%), as are books on networking in general, while books on security are not!
