Devoted to technical writing and technical writers

I know some people with a certain affliction; as they write on the computer, they take great pains to format the text, trying to make it look beautiful. Time is wasted when they have to devote some of their creativity to this.

If your duties are limited to simply writing, keep it as such, and don't waste time seeing which font or layout will work best. Of course, bold, italics, and underlines are acceptable when needed, but concentrate on writing. Not only will you create better copy, but you'll make life much easier for the layout artist or graphic designer, who will appreciate working with "clean" text.
