Tell me, is it true that as a writer, having a Yahoo! or Hotmail email account removes some sense of authority?

Though this may be rather opinionated, I'd have to say that a Yahoo address would have to be reserved for a Yahoo! messenger ID, if that's what you use.

On the other hand, I've found it rather appealing for editors and writers to have a .Mac email address. Because several people in the advertising, media and publishing industry use Macintosh as the preferred brand of portable, having a .Mac account helps build rapport.
