The usual temptation is to pseudo-procrastinate your writing by a few hours to catch up on sleep lost the night before (who knows where you came from?).
One tip that has been shared by professional writers would be to pretend you're at work:
Set aside time to designate a "work room" that is very distinct from your "bed room"
When you wake up, go through the morning rituals including dressing up for work. I don't mean a suit and tie, but a change of clothes to pants and a decent shirt may help you set the mood that you're "at work" and not "at home."
Turn on the answering machine. Pretend you're really not home for home-related stuff.

Do you have other tips to help us work more efficiently from home?

Yes. Turn the fax machine on and then get a photocopy machine.
