Demo unit pet peeves
One of the small annoyances I deal with as a tech editor is when dealers send over a menagerie of review units - laptops, mobile phones - with no technical manual included.

Because of this I would have to lazy over to the Internet to search for products, sometimes missing out because of the way manufacturers name hardware to match the Asian, American and European markets.

A word of advice to product managers: when sending demo units, it would be best to include the package as if it were a unit in retail (not unless you are specifically lending a prototype) so that writers can have the full experience of finding what was inside the box, including the manual.

Yes, I've gotten mobile phones without chargers or PDA's without sync cables.
