Part of my job is to give tech advice to people who know so little about technology. These would usually span over dinner with friends and family asking me "as a matter of fact" what type of new *insert piece of technology here* they should buy.

So a friend recently asked what type of laptop should she buy and i replied firstly with "what is your budget?" She told me between $1,000 to $2,000 so naturally, being a Mac fanatic I told her  that the MacBook series would be a good buy.

To compress the main difference (this was an email exchange) between the MacBook and Pro series I had to sift through all the stuff I knew didn't really matter to her and told her simply that:

If you want sa small laptop, get a MacBook. If you want a big one, get a MacBook Pro.

And from there, it all made sense to her. This is the lighter side of tech writing and advice.
