
Ms Rowling had just come out with the 6th book in the 7-book Harry Potter series. As usual, her 6th book racked up tremendous sales that put Ms Rowling on a financial level comparable to her monarch.
So, what drives people to take on such a seemingly unstable lifework such as the writing profession? Is it the difficult to measure element called Personal Satisfaction? Or is it the happiness an author derives from seeing other people take pleasure in reading their works? Or is it a simple cognitive response to one’s creative genes?
There are probably thousands of starving writers for every successful one. And each starving writer has his or her own story to tell. Imagine the fabric of stories one could weave from the personal tales each of these people could tell?
