It is said that clothes define a person...unless one runs into a
person who deliberatly flouts convention or prefers to thumb his/her
nose at societal norms.
On the other hand, I have always had an interest in looking at one's
penmanship and trying to figure out how a person is or isn't what
he/she appears to be. Since the average adult probably never had
formal penmanship or writing classes, one sees a wide range of styles
from chicken scratches to kiddie-type writing. Given today's
dependence on the computer and other hand-held instruments for the
taking of or writing of notes and papers, it is a given that fine
penmanship will go the way of the lost arts of Illumination and
Calligraphy. To be used only on occasion or by those who need to do so
for a living.

Look at your own penmanship. See if it says anything about yourself.
Then, check out those of other people.
Handwriting experts are probably harder pressed these days to obtain
handwritten samples since fewer people commit things to the written
word. Very often, because of urgency, one tends to slash and dash
instead of engaging in a finely written exercise. I should know: My
otherwise formerly nice penmanship is getting to look like the chicken
scratches I mentioned earlier.
