Previously, I made the point that one should select an appropriate quotation in order to augment or highlight what one is trying to say. Now, we will start from the opposite direction. We will obtain a wonderful idea from a quote, and then develop the quote into a suitable speech or essay.
If there is righteousness in the heart, there will be beauty in the character.
If there be beauty in the character, there will be harmony in the home.
If there is harmony in the home, there will be order in the nation.
When there is order in the nation, there will be peace in the world.
This wonderful quotation, the train of thought of which proceeds from the particular to the universal, gives an idea of how Peace and Harmony can be brought about in the world. On the other hand, one could point out that, precisely, Peace and Harmony do not obtain because of failure of righteousness to reign in individual hearts. This quote shows how the building of a nation is dependent on the strength and moral fiber of those who make up society: Individuals and Families. The breakdown of integrity in persons and at home spells the downfall of a given society.
