It seems that the words BENEVOLENT and BENEFICENT are often used interchangeably, despite slight variations in their respective meanings.
One may be considered BENEVOLENT if one is a “good-wisher”, one who exudes kindness and consideration for others. When one is BENEFICENT, however, one’s benevolence is translated into action, making one become a “good-doer”, or more commonly, a “do-gooder”.
One’s attention is called to the word BENEFICENT, which is NOT the same as being BENEFICIENT.
