
Which house or person does not have a personal or photo album stocked away somewhere, a repository for valued images or memories? Even an on-line album of digital photos provides a more modern touch to the storage of precious moments.
And yet, these often colorful albums find their origins in the word WHITE. Why? The word ALBUM is derived from a Latin word, albus, which means either White or Blank. It seems that these white blank tablets were used in the display of notices in ancient Rome. A tablet with nothing written on it was blank, until a notice was written or placed on it.
