I was reading this today and it dawned on me how our local user communities (I belong to a PDA user group and a Macintosh user group) seem to have a very low tolerance to "dumb answers." Part of creating a good community is by tackling your online group in two ways:
1. There are no dumb questions
2. There are no dumb answers
Great? Cool. Administrators and moderators should have a message like this on the front of the boards that reiterate how the passion for communication and each giving their "2 cents" worth can amount to a priceless community interaction. Remember, it isn't just about asking the dumb questions -- but allowing dumb answers too and who said it was wrong to correct them? But do it in a diplomatic fashion. That's community!
