So we have Web 2.0 and Publishing 2.0 -- but what is Writing 2.0? I actually deduced this concept from the way publishing - online and offline - have gotten to be more straightforward yet casual. With Publishing 2.0 gearing towards blogs, podcasts and online video and Web 2.0 gearing towards simpler and lighter designs, what then is Writing 2.0?
If you were to ask me what the "new style" of writing is, I'd have to say that first, it has been around longer than the Web 2.0 revolution because the new trends in writing aim for shorter yet clearer essays where you get to go from "let me introduce this topic with several chapters plus my review of related literature" to "okay this is what I have and here's why it can benefit you."
