Or him.
Back in high school I used to believe in the mythical creature that all artists adored - the Muse: the source of inspiration for all things beautiful and good, it overflowed inspiration to my pen and trickled the words all over the paper.
When I started working, the puppy love romance with my Muse was gone - all gone. And then I started to realize that the Museis like your typical one-sided relationship: in my case she comes in at the times when I am in the worst position to write (like in the middle of my day job), and ironically when you call out to her, she never comes.
If there's one thing I have learned about the art of writing, it is the fact that there is also a science to it. In the same way that athletes train several months before the competition on a daily basis, writing on a daily basis - inspired or not, will always reap benefits.
Which is why I enjoy the blogging industry. You are compelled to write everyday even if you don't feel like it.
