
Compare these two phrases and tell me which is more powerful:
"To boldly go where no man has gone before ..."
or
"Boldly going where no man has gone before ..."
If you chose the first, then I may have to agree with you that omitting the suffix "-ing" on verbs makes for more powerful statements, generally. And there's a lot more cadence to saying "to do" or "to go" or "to give" than "doing," "going" or "giving."
